The Burwell School of Photography is once again proud to partner with the Edmonton Cariwest Festival to provide photography for this AMAZING event! Cariwest celebrates Caribbean culture in the tradition of Carnivale! It is an extravaganza of color, costumes, music, dance, food and entertainment.

Photographers will be asked to provide photographic coverage of the parade, live music, performances, costumed participants, vendors and more. Volunteer photographers are given access to areas not publicly accessible and are granted permissions not normally available by simply attending the festival. Photographers will receive a T-shirt identifying them as official photographers and have access to the volunteer area where free meals and drinks will be provided. Volunteers are expected to provide their own transportation to and from the festival venue at Churchill Square in downtown Edmonton.

The festival features a Friday night extravaganza, parade, Caribbean village, live music stage, dancing and more. Visit the Cariwest website for schedule details. 

Volunteers will gain experience working with a large organization, receiving instructions and fullfilling assignments. 

Volunteers will also learn a great deal about the cultures of the people and vendors represented at the festival.
