Photography Contest
"Summer in the City"
The theme for our current photo contest is Summer in the City.
As usual with our contests, you may interpret the theme in any way you like. In fact, this theme is really open to a lot of interpretations. The image or images you enter may be candid or street photos of an interesting subject, person or event. If you are planning to attend any of the amazing festivals that Edmonton has to offer, there are tons of opportunities to create great photographs. However, you can let your imagination soar (we LOVE that) and create something completely different. how about an architectural image of a city landmark? Perhaps you might submit a wildlife photo taken in the river valley. Or a spectacular city skyline photographed at sunrise? Heck, it doesn't even HAVE to be taken in Edmonton. The contest is summer in the city, but doesn't specify what city!
The images submitted will be curated into 6 "finalists". An overall winner will be selected from the final six and Honorable mentions will be given to those images deemed to deserving of additional recognition. The winning photographer will receive a $250.00 gift certificate towards any class the Burwell School offers. All finalists will receive a snazzy certificate and have their photos featured in our newsletter, on Facebook, Instagram and our blog. These images will also be printed, framed and displayed at the Providence Renewal Center.
Photos will be judged on technical quality, impact, composition, and creativity. The finalists will be notified by email and announced in the 1st newsletter following the entry deadline.
