If you are just contemplating photographing your first wedding or if you are a seasoned pro, there is plenty in this class that will help you to photograph with the skill and confidence you need. Instructor Chris Stambaugh MPA condenses his 22 years of experience in one intensive weekend of fun and photography. Chris will walk you through a wedding from begining to end. Starting with techniques to better communicate with your bride and groom and proper planning to eliminate surprises and maximize the potential for great photographs. You move on to learning detailed techniques for each segment of the wedding day including the pre ceremony getting ready pictures, the church ceremony, the portrait session and the reception. Learn when to use a photojournalistic approach and when to take charge and direct your photo session.

During the Wedding Photography Courses, posing and lighting techniques are demonstrated with a live model. You will learn and practice photographing with natural light and flash photography. Proper posing of a Bride, Groom, couple and groups are demonstrated in this class.

We finish with a segment for those who wish to enter into wedding photography as a business. Different options for presenting your photographs to the client are discussed as well as various pricing concepts to ensure that you are profitable.

About Your Instructor for the Wedding Photography Courses

Chris Stambaugh as been a professional photographer for over two decades.  He has been commissioned to create photographs across the country and has photographed many of Alberta’s prominent figures.  Chris has won numerous awards for his work and has been a five time finalist for Alberta Portrait Photographer of the Year and a finalist for Canadian Portrait Photographer of the Year.  He is the past president of the Professional Photographers of Canada and has been given the title “Master of Photographic Arts” and “Honorary Lifetime Member” by this association.  Recently, Chris as become a prominent photographic educator and has lectured to professional photographers across Canada.  In addition to the workshops with the Burwell School of Photography, Chris offers classes with Edmonton’s Metro Community College and NAIT Continuing Education.

Prerequisites for the Wedding Photography Courses

Students require a good knowledge of how to use your DSLR camera and external flash.

Equipment Required:

Bring your whole kit: camera, lenses, flash, and tripod.

These Wedding Photography Courses include:

• 12 hours of classroom instruction
• Lunch on both days consisting of a choice of main course, 2 salads, soup, side dishes and desert
• Certificate of completion
• Small group size, limited to 14 participants

Cost for Wedding Photography Course
