Join Outdoor Photography Canada Magazine contributing editor and professional photographer Paul Burwell for a multi-faceted course that will help immerse you into the world of Adobe’s Lightroom 3 software and we’ll cover what’s new in the newly released beta (test) version 4. Lightroom 3 is arguably the best piece of software photographers can use to manage and develop their images.
During our Edmonton Lightroom 4 class, we’ll spend our time together helping you learn about the modules of Lightroom 4; Library, Develop, Map, Book, Slideshow, Print and Web. We’ll explore the software from a workflow perspective and teach you to optimize your use of Lightroom for capturing, cataloging, sorting, editing, developing and outputting your images.
This class allows you to have hands-on practice with my images, along with your own. You’ll learn how to optimize your images to make them look their best, process large collections of images and learn the techniques you’ll need to find those images in the future. Additionally we’ll discuss best-practice techniques for ensuring that your image collection sticks around and survives a hard drive crash or other calamity.
This class is targeted towards photographers with a beginner to intermediary level of experience with Lightroom.
You will need to bring a computer (Mac or Windows, Laptop or Desktop) loaded with the latest edition of Adobe Lightroom Software (Version 4.0). If you don’t wish to purchase the latest edition, you may install the free 30-day trial version of the software before arriving at the first class. Please visit Adobe’s web site to download the 30-day trial version. Contact us with questions.
I came to the course with a list of things I wanted to learn over the weekend, by Sunday morning the list was checked off and I was learning things I didn’t even know enough about to formulate a question. Paul Burwell has a very clean clear way of teaching. He uses the “I’ll show you then you do it yourself” method that ensures every student actually performs the lesson on their own computer. His knowledge of the subject matter is remarkable and he will approach the subject from whichever direction it takes to get the point across. I’m stoked and ready to “Lightroom my world”. I got my monies worth by 10:00 Sunday morning. ===> Ray R.
